Lab 13 Problems

Yesterday I spent a lot of time on lab 13. Part one was fine. Most of part two went well except for the most critical part which is step 16 where the Kali computer connects to the Windows 2008 server. Without that connection taking place I was not able to complete the last few steps or any of the steps in part 3. I tried the lab several times. I tried the lab using a virtual Kali and Windows 2008 server at home and it didn't work. I was wondering if anyone was able to get the connection to work. Any advice would be appreciated.
