- describe a case or situation in IT security or ethical hacking (complete with references in the form of links)
- do moral reasoning about the case, decide what you think is right or wrong (make a judgment call) and give some reasons in the form of an argument supporting your opinion
- contextualize the case by analyzing it from the perspective of a philosopher of your choice (complete with references to specific texts by that philosopher supporting your analysis)
By next week, April 11, you should identify a case and briefly outline your judgment and reasoning related to the case. Post this to the blog by noon on Tuesday April 11, and be ready to talk about your case and your judgment and reasoning informally in class.
In class on April 11, I will spend some time consulting with each of you and helping you to identify one or more philosophers who might provide a useful perspective for analysis of your case.
By April 18, you should post to the blog with a draft of your entire blog post--the description of the case, your judgment and reasoning, and your contextualization of the case through the perspective of a philosopher.
In class on April 18, you will briefly, in 2-3 minutes, present your draft to the class. Your classmates and professors will ask you questions about it. These questions will help you to improve your post.
By 11:59 PM on April 24, your final version of your post is due on the blog.
