property pt3

"You have victimized your own customers merely for possessing and sharing information, and continue to target those who seek this information."

Here, Anonymous is making a point towards Sony that they are punishing their own customers for trying to share the information that they, Sony, think they own. When in reality, no one person can own something so vast. Sony believes that because they sell and make a profit of the items they sell and the information they contain, they own it still. Sony fails to realize that once something is paid for through a legal transaction, ownership of that item changes.

"Anonymous, the notoriously handsome rulers of the internet, would like to inform you that you have only been "renting" your web domains"

Going off of what i said in the last section, Sony thinks they have the right to punish those that are doing what they want with the information/item that they purchased and now own. I find it funny that Anonymous pointed out to them in quotes that Sony is renting the web domains they use to make their products. Not only is Sony being hypocrites, but they don't even own the domains they use, so who are they to say what someone can or can't do whit something they purchased?

"Whoever makes something having bought or contracted for all other held resources used in the process, is entitles to it....Things come into the world already attached to people having entitlements over them....Seizing the results of someone's labor is equivalent to seizing hours from him and directing him to carry on various activities" (Robert Nozick 20th century USA)

To me, this means that if you yourself put your time and effort into something, it becomes yours. In the case of Geohot, he jailbroke his PS3 with his knowledge and time. Sony tried to seize his efforts which is morally wrong
